Description
A shell wall light curves a resin shell around its LED so the source stays out of sight and the wall carries the glow. It is the fix for a corridor or bedside where a bare fitting would sit right at eye level. The curve throws light upward as well as down, which stops the wash ending in a hard line halfway up the plaster. Concealed sources are what separate a wall light you can sit beside from one you cannot.
The body is resin with an iron shade, measuring 280 by 400 millimetres, in white or black. The LED is dimmable and runs at 220 volts, so the same fitting covers a bright corridor and a low bedside setting. Resin keeps the sculptural form crisp at a weight plasterboard can carry, which is why it does not need a masonry fixing. Iron forms the shade and resin the body, so the two materials each do what they are best at.
