Sculptural Magnesium Oxide Bedside Table

A magnesium oxide bedside table solves a familiar problem in a small bedroom: somewhere to set a book, a glass and a pair of reading glasses without crowding the mattress. The irregular triangular footprint tucks close to a bed edge, and the low, unbroken profile keeps sightlines open across the floor, which makes a tight room feel less full than a boxy nightstand would. Small bedrooms fail on surfaces rather than on floor area, which is what this addresses.

The material is magnesium oxide finished in spray paint with an imitation wood grain, available in wood grain or black. The shape is an irregular triangle rather than a rectangle, which is what lets it sit into the angle beside a bed. It requires no assembly and arrives fully built, so there is nothing to align or tighten on delivery. Magnesium oxide is denser than particle board and does not swell if a drink is spilled on it.

Beside a bed it works as a nightstand; beside a sofa it takes a drink and a remote without reading as furniture from a different set. In a guest room it gives a bedside surface where a full nightstand would not fit. DecorNestHub supplies it assembled. The wood grain finish reads warmer; black disappears against a dark wall or a low bed frame.
