Charming Magpie Bird Wall Light

A magpie bird wall light is for people who would rather have one small piece of character than another plain disc on the wall. The bird sits on the arm as though it had just landed there, and the warm light comes from behind it, so the silhouette reads clearly against the plaster. It gives a bedside or a living room wall a focal point that is doing a job rather than simply hanging there. Decorative fittings usually fail by trying too hard; this one keeps a single motif and a plain frame.

The bird component is moulded plastic set on a frame, and the fitting comes as a single head or a double head depending on how much wall there is to fill. The light source is warm, which keeps the glow soft enough to sit beside in the evening rather than bright enough to work by. The style is Nordic, so the frame stays plain and lets the bird carry the detail. The double head version spreads the same warm light across a wider stretch of wall.

Mounted above a nightstand it works as a reading light with personality; in a living room it lights a corner that overhead fittings miss. The box contains the wall lamp and a user manual, and DecorNestHub supplies both the single and double head configurations. Moulded plastic keeps the bird light enough to mount on plasterboard without a special fixing.
