Description
A pleated linen shade table lamp borrows its shape from mid-century hotel lighting and its materials from a Nordic workshop. The folds catch the light in narrow vertical bands, so the shade carries texture whether the lamp is switched on or not. It is the piece that stops a bedside or a console reading as an afterthought, and it works as decoration during the day as much as light at night. A pleated shade also hides the lamp inside it more completely than a plain drum does.
The base is bamboo wood, offered square or round in a brown or log finish, and the shade comes in linen or jute cloth. It runs at up to 36 volts from the supplied mains adapter and is switched by remote control, so there is no reaching behind the shade in the dark. Color rendering is CRI 90, which keeps bedding and timber true. Bamboo is lighter than hardwood but stable enough to keep the lamp upright on an uneven surface.
