Description
A minimalist LED wall light in a slim rectangular profile, a metre tall and only 80 millimetres deep, is made to sit flat against the wall without crowding a narrow corridor. It gives a vertical band of light where a bracket fitting would give only a spot, which is what makes a long hallway feel lit rather than punctuated by isolated pools of brightness. Vertical fittings light a wall from top to bottom, which is what makes a corridor feel finished.
The body is iron with an acrylic diffuser, measuring 150 by 80 by 1000 millimetres, in a black or gold finish. The LED draws 7 watts at 220 volts with tricolour dimming, so the same fitting covers a bright entrance and a soft night-time corridor. The shallow depth is the specification that matters most in a passage people walk through in the dark. At 7 watts it draws very little, so a run of several along a hallway costs almost nothing to leave on.
Mounted beside a doorway it lights the threshold; mounted in a run it gives a corridor an even rhythm. Gold reads warmer against pale plaster, black recedes against darker walls.
