Description
A lunar eclipse wall light borrows its silhouette from a partial eclipse: one disc set behind another, so the source stays hidden and only the glow reaches the wall. It answers the problem of harsh, direct wall lighting in rooms meant for rest. What lands on the plaster is a soft arc rather than a bright ring, which is why it works at eye level. Indirect wall light is far easier to sit beside than a fitting that shows its source.
The fitting is iron throughout, at 20 or 25 centimetres in diameter depending on the finish chosen. Exteriors come in red copper, brass, black or white, each with a copper or brass interior, so the hidden face reflects a warmer tone than the outer one. The integrated LED runs at 220 volts and the fitting is wall mounted, with hardware and manual included. Iron holds the two discs in a fixed relationship, so the eclipse silhouette stays exact.
